Encyclopædic listings and works

it can be difficult to find even basic info on a person, and challenging to find an exhaustive description.
There are, however, a small number of well-known encyclopaedic works, but they are out of print years ago
and have not been digitized in online searchable formats.
This page tries to give an insight into some well-known works.
"Der Neue Stockel" in German language.
"Le Qui est qui dans l'Armurerie Francaise" in French
"Norske Børsemakere" in Norwegian language.

The well-known Wikipedia does have a category for gunsmiths, and when this is written there are about 210 names entered.

LokalhistorieWiki is a web service owned and organized by a Norwegian government-funded service to open up for participative editing of all kinds of local Norwegian history. An increasing number of Norwegian gunsmiths have been entered, and the number is growing.
