This is a starting page for a section with links and info on some gunsmiths, bladesmiths and other artisans
who often was involved in the process of making and decorate a weapon.
French guns and pistols from the time period from Henri IV and his son Louis XIII
through Napoleon 1st. and 3rd., are my main interest. This roughly covers the years from ca.1600
through ca.1830. These years is by many considered the highdays of french gunsmithing and a period
when France was leading in design and technological innovation, specially of luxury quality weapons.
