ArmHis Museums with interesting collections of arms and museal fortifications

This is a starting page linking to different sources and lists of museums where arms are exposed.

There are a plethoria of museums in the most surprising places, but only a relatively small number
are well known for their arms collections. Many interesting museums, castles and fortifications
are hard to locate if you haven't done research before arriving in a city.
Sometimes even a well known place may have little to see for arms collectors.

I have during several years compiled a list of museums in different countries, and written a number of articles for my arms collectors society on museums I have visited. The list has reached a size which may be interesting to present here, but I am discussing the best format with myself.
